Ebonized cherry wood, sheet metal and applied patina / FROM THE DOCUMENTATION: “Truss … derived from the Old French word trousse … means ‘collection of things bound together’ such as a framework supporting a roof, a bridge or other structure. The truss continues to be a common component of the oil rig – from both the past, such as the vintage wood structures, and the present. With this shared concept in mind, the artist has created a unique art piece that creatively demonstrates the interaction necessary between all supporting parts to create a whole. Interesting detail: In March of 2015, many members of the Project Construction Team added their names to the main truss which now spans the Chevron-Midland Visitor Entrance.”
